Once reset, input the following settings for the Brush tool (B):

  • Brush size: 1100px
  • Hardness: 0%
  • Opacity: 15%
  • Flow: 100%
  • #: ffffff

Now, let’s paint:

The result of that should be similar to this:

Now that we’re done with the hills and the background, select all these layers and press Ctrl/Cmd + G to group them. Name this group to “Background”.

Note: Renaming a group is similar to renaming a layer.

Step 20: Create the Man

Now, we will be adding the man jumping off the cliff. To start, open the stock image: “Jump12” by Danger99Stock; once the image is open, activate the Magnetic Lasso Tool (L).

image059[5]

Once activated, use this tool to select the man.

Step 21

After creating a selection area around him, activate the Move tool (V) and drag him to our canvas. Put this layer above the “Background” group. Rename this layer to “Man”.

The “man” should be positioned here upon moving:

Next, activate the Transform tool (Ctrl/Cmd + T) and resize the “man” as shown below:

image062[5]

Step 22

Activate the Transform tool (Ctrl/Cmd + T) once again and rotate the “man” as shown below:

The result:

Activate the Move tool (V) and drag it to the position shown below:

image065[5]

Step 23

Next, let’s adjust the Brightness/Contrast of the “man”. To do that, go to Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast and input the following once it’s open:

The result:

image067[5]

Step 24

Next, we will be adjusting the exposure of the “man”.

In the Layer window, click on the “Create New Fill/Adjustment layer button”.

image068[8]

Once open, click on the following:

image069[8]

Once it is open, input the following values:

  • Exposure: -0.38
  • Offset: 0.0435
  • Gamma Correction: 1.03
image070[5]

After hitting OK, right click on this Exposure layer and then click on Create Clipping Mask.

The exposure layer would then be applied only to the “man”. See image below:

image071[5]

Now, select all the layers we created in this step and group them (Ctrl/Cmd + G). Name this group to “Man”.

Step 25 – Create the Woman

Now, we will be creating the woman who also jumped off the cliff. To start, open “Longing 8” by intergalacticstock. Activate the Polygonal Lasso Tool (L) and create a selection area around the woman. See image below:

image072[5]

Once you’ve created the selection area, activate the Move tool (V) and drag the woman to our canvas, put it above all the layers and groups that we’ve created. Once on the canvas, rename that layer to “woman”.
