Step 23

Open the birds 1 image and isolate the birds using the Magic Wand Tool (W). Place them on the top left of the main canvas. Set this layer below the arch’s layer.

Step 24

Cut out the bird 2 from the original image and add him to the left of the man, on the arch’s surface. Flip him horizontally (Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal) and use Ctrl+Tto resize him to be much smaller.

Create a Hue/Saturationadjustment layer and decrease the Saturation values to -38:

Make a Color Balanceadjustment layer and alter the Midtonesvalues:

Add a Curvesadjustment layer and increase the lightness to make the bird brighter to fit the light of the scene.

Step 28

Create a new layer, change the mode to Overlay 100%and fill with 50%gray. Use the Dodge Toolto paint more light for some small details on the bird body and tail.

Step 29

Make a Gradient Mapadjustment layer on top of the layers and pick the colors of the dark blue, #011016and #58c9f8.

Step 30

Make a Photo Filteradjustment layer and choose the color #6f95b0.

Step 31

Create aCurvesadjustment layer to darken the whole scene. On the layer mask, use a soft black brush to reveal the light on the middle section, and the area around the man.

Step 32

Make a new layer on top of the layers and use a soft brush with the color #2c1702to paint light on the lamp. Change this layer mode to Linear Dodge 100%.

Make another layer and use a soft brush with the color #f8b369to paint more light for the lamp. Alter this layer mode to Overlay 100%.

Step 33

On another layer, use a soft brush with the color #9f5a10 to paint glowing light for the lamp. Alter this layer mode to Screen 100%.

Create a new layer, use the color #f8c48ato paint inside the lamp to strengthen the highlight within. Change this layer mode to Overlay 100%.

Step 34

Make a new layer, use a soft brush with the color #2c1702 to paint the light reflection along the branches, man’s back and bird. Alter this layer mode to Linear Dodge 100%.

Add a new layer, use the color #f8b369to make the light’s effect on the areas mentioned above more vibrant. Change this layer mode to Color 100%.
